Pygmy Date Palm is one of the most widely used date palms in the United States. Though usually single-trunked in nature, multiples are frequently produced in nurseries. This species small stature, slow rate of growth, ease of culture, and graceful crown have made it a popular accent plant in tropical landscapes. The crown requires occasional trimming of the older leaves. Pygmy Date Palm is also one of the most adaptable dates for container culture, though is does not hold up very well in dimly lit interiors. |
